It's Not As Simple As Just Listing The Best Acne Treatments.

By Mady Shafman

Acne can be described as an inflammatory skin eruption which is commonly seen in or near the sebaceous glands of the various parts of the human body including the face, neck, upper back, and shoulders. There are several best acne treatment products available in the market.

So how do you find the best acne treatment for your skin? Firstly, it's a good idea to look at what each individual acne treatment product actually acts on. In other words, how does the treatment work? Most popular acne treatments only treat the symptoms of acne (that is, the pimples, blackheads and cysts that appear on the skin), while ignoring the real cause of acne. These treatments may work more or less effectively for people, but many users find that their acne treatments of choice simply aren't effective over the long term.

Hence the best acne treatment for an individual can only be determined by the skin type of the person and the skin reaction on that treatment.

However, when I did find the solution, it wasn't in the form of some sort of new skin care product. It was actually in a book recommended to me by a friend and acne ex-sufferer. He'd read a book called Acne Cured the Ebook, and followed the advice it contained. When he told me I was quite skeptical. I wondered if maybe he'd been trying a new product at the same time, or had changed his skin care routine.

However, by this stage in my life I was willing to try everything and anything (I'd already been through all the popular acne treatments, the not-so popular acne treatments, even the harsh prescription acne treatments in my quest to find the best acne treatment for my skin). So, I reluctantly bought the book and read it. Not only did I read it, I also committed to following all the recommendations and guidelines contained in it.

For some, the gel or cream they apply on their hair is known to trigger acne. These chemicals get deposited on the pillow cover when the person sleeps and eventually ends up on the facial skin. If troubled by such instances, take care to change the pillow covers often.

And adult acne? Which are the best treatments for adult acne? Same answer. It depends. The best treatments for adult acne are the same as the best acne treatments for teenagers. They are the treatments that work for you. After you have seen your doctor, had your acne checked out, tried one or more until you find the one that works, and then settled on that one. Then you've found YOUR best acne cure.

And, one final suggestion, don't buy a suggested acne cure, apply it for a week and expect that your acne will be gone. It's not that easy. Apply the product for at least 2 or 3 months, or longer as recommended, before you make any judgements. Acne takes a long time to develop, and a long time to control. Even the best acne treatments on the market take quite a while to work. And remember to apply them exactly as recommended.

For some persons with acute acne, the popular acne treatments we discussed here may not yield best results. In such cases, it is better to consult your physician who can opt you the best treatment for acne.
